Description

Leather insert is genuine leather that will be used when performing repairs to leather that has a large hole or cut with missing material. It should be cut to fit inside the area of missing material, and glued to the Subpatch (Linnen) by using DT-156 Leather Adhesive.Make certain that all edges and corners of the Leather insert are lying flat and flush so that it does not create a raised outline on the surface of the Leather. It is always a good idea to sand or shave the edges of the Leather insert, after placement, to avoid any ”high spots” in the finished repair.

Edges between two pieces of leather will be filled and bonded using DT-152 Leather Repair Compound.

Leather insert material must be prepped just as the surrounding leather prior to the application of repair and colourant materials.

This method is more efficient than filling with repair compound alone
